So I’m at an old cafe by the beach alone and I got up to use the restroom and buy a croissant. When I returned this was in my book ~
Am I the only one who finds that kind of thing really fucking creepy?
Not leaving notes for strangers you admire that you feel too self-conscious to approach (I’ve left plenty of notes along the lines of “omg I saw your Browncoat sticker and just wanted to say that that’s awesome” or “I absolutely love this book, great taste in reading!”) but just to comment on someones appearance and leave a number expecting them to call… I don’t know, some might think it’s romantic, but I prefer to meet people face to face and make a judgement about whether I want them to have my number or not (a choice you don’t get if you call someone, and one that’s difficult to make by peoples well-chosen written words alone). I don’t like the idea of people just… watching me, and waiting, that’s just…. skeevy.
This is why no one invites me to romantic comedies, I ruin all the plot devices by pointing out how weird, dysfunctional, or downright creepy they are.
Yeah, this is very creepy.
